Leaving on a jet plane!

The last time I was in New York was 3 years ago.
The last time my mom was in New York was 25 years ago!

God is so faithful!

My mom and I have never done any type of a mother/daughter trip together and for years I've wanted to go back to NY with her. I think it would be so cool visiting places she grew up and meeting all her lifelong friends.

Last month my mom was on the phone with one of her friends who still lives in NY, Diane. My mom was sharing some of her recent struggles with Diane and telling her the only way she has been able to get through those things was because of Jesus. Long story short, my mom lead Diane to the Lord! {HOORAY!!!! PARTY IN HEAVEN!!!} The next day, Diane called my mom back & said "Robin, I want to pay for both you and Kerrin to come out to NY!" My mother of course, felt she couldn't accept this amazing gift...I of course, convinced her otherwise! :D
So after much "we'll figure it out mom" conversations, Diane scheduled us a trip to NY fully funded from April 4th to April 11. We will stay with Diane on Long Island in our own bedrooms, we will have full access to a car so we can go gallivant wherever, whenever! And Diane's daughter lives in Manhattan and we can stay with her if we want to go to the city...and YES, we will be going to the city!!!

Along with all these amazing amenities that Diane is providing us, we have a family reunion happening that same week in NY also. Coincident? I think not! God is good!
My mother will have the opportunity to see some of her relatives she hasn't seen in 15+ years & I will get to meet all my crazy-loud Italian New Yorker relatives that I've never met before! OH! There will be video footage of this craziness!!! ***Now would be a good time to follow me on Vine ;)***

I'm so excited about this trip! New York is the greatest place on earth... it's practically the center of the universe! 

I plan to:

- shop in Manhattan thrift shops (do you know there is a Goodwill right in the center of Manhattan?!?)

- shop in general

- attempt to go to a service at Hillsong NYC

- maybe sit in on an acting class with my cousin

- eat lunch in Central Park with mom (I wonder if Shakespeare in the Park will be happening???)

- see Jane, Tiana & Fam, Buddy, Corey & Mark

& any other adventure I can squeeze in that week!

You can't really tell but I am wearing those patent leather leggings.

THOSE AREN'T PANTS!!! I've heard it a million times and I agree buuuuttttttt....

I don't care! It was rainy and I was lazy! Ever have those days when you just want to be comfy?!? 

Every day, you say? 

Ya, me too! 

Much to my surprise those leggings were quite comfy! Not the warmest things I've ever worn but when the sun hit them just right...It pretty much felt like I was melting. LOL

Each blogger who wants to participate will be randomly paired up with another blogger to do a Gag-gift exchange! All packages must be shipped out so they can arrive to the other bloggers destination.

On March 1^st, we will all post about the blogger we received a package from, and about the gag-gift they sent us!

So where does the “party” part come in?

You will then link up the post you wrote onto our blogs. The link party will be interlined between both hosts for one giant link up party!

The package must be a gag gift of some sort, no more than $10-$15!

***Define Gag Gift - A gift given at a gift exchange, strictly for comedic effect.***

Just make it something small and fun, preferably something to go along with the bloggers personality. For example, if the blogger you've been paired up with has a very humorous and outgoing personality maybe head to Party City and purchase them a pair of huge clown glasses.

Try to get to know the other blogger, and send them something that will put a smile on their face. Be creative! If you are having trouble thinking of something, you can always e-mail one of us for some suggestions.

So how will this work?

Any blogger who wants to participate will e-mail Kimberly their name and blog address to bostonksox@gmail.com with “Gag-Gift Blog Party” in the subject line. Participants, please email all submissions by Feb 22nd.

Each blogger will be randomly paired up with another blogger, and will receive that blogger's e-mail and web address.

It is then up to those bloggers to give each other their shipping address so they can send each other their gag gifts! (Try and get to know your new blogging friends!)

Make sure to ship out your packages by an appropriate date so that the other person will get their package BEFORE March 1st. Then make sure to write up a post about the person you met, and what they sent you! And don’t forget to link it up to BOTH BLOGS to spread the love and meet tons of new bloggers!

Hope we can all meet some new people in the blogging world, spread smiles with some gift giving, and spread some blogging love for 2013!
