have i told you lately how much i hate halloween? i really hate it! when i was a little girl, i maybe went trick or treating once or twice and then i just found it to be scary and pointless {candy was a regular part of my diet so i didn't see what the big whoop was all about}. i haven't and will never be "in" to halloween. i don't understand a "holiday" that celebrates death and all sorts of other sick and twisted things.

mom and i were on a walk around our neighborhood and one of our neighbors had strung what looked like a dead body that was duct taped and wrapped in a black garbage bag up on his street light. it's was not only disgusting but horrifying! i'm sorry, but you gotta be seriously messed up in the head to come up with something that morbid.

anywhoo. this photo was taken at my friend sarah's {aka the black swan} housewarming/costume party. i went as my favorite, holly golighty! gotta love audrey!

well, i'm off to nyc with my best tomorrow. i hope you have a smart and safe halloween if you are out and about.

as i mentioned before, this past saturday was spent at Mortimer Family Farm to visit the pumpkin patch. this was my first time at a pumkin patch and i gotta say, i love it! i went with some of my closest friends family and their kiddos. it was so fun watching the kids explore new things and us adults had a great time as well. i'm giving this outing an 9 out of 10. if it were a tad cooler, it would've been the perfect day!
a day at the pumpkin patch with family! nothing better!

happy wednesday!

|| fall off ||

*************************************************************************************************
happy fall! it's 90 degrees here in phoenix, i'm wearing shorts and the a/c is still on in the house. weather like this seriously ruins my picturesque visions of what fall should be. and leaves, where are all the leaves?!? we don't have those here.
i know we have seasons in our spiritual lives and today i am wondering what fall would like like in a persons life in the spiritual sense. fall, what happens in the fall? i picture things that were once alive and well, drying up and falling off.
what things would i like in my life to dry up and fall off {as i run a quick list through my head i am noticing they are all negative things in my life}? how do you dry up something? i guess by not watering it. so many times i feed the weeds in my life instead of letting the vine dresser prune those things out of my life.

waiting. waiting. waiting. while i'm waiting, i will serve you. while i'm waiting, i will worship. while i am waiting, i will not faint. i'll be running the race even while i wait.

"For still the vision awaits its appointed time;
    it hastens to the end—it will not lie.
If it seems slow, wait for it;
    it will surely come; it will not delay."
- Habakkuk 2:3

// i really wish the church would stop trying to be the holy spirit for everyone else. speak the good news and love people the way Jesus does. stop trying to "convict" people - that's the holy spirit's job.

stop trying to push your personal convictions on others. when you do so, you cause division in the body. you are convicted about certain things that others aren't convicted of due to your own personal calling. Agree on the specific things that Jesus says to agree on. all other convictions are personal convictions. we all have different purposes (read Ephesians). what good would a hand be if it demanded to see like an eye sees? stop creating new denominations out of a personal conviction! THAT DIVIDES US! A house divided will fall. We all have different callings and yet the Lord tells us to be unified. just like a marriage, a woman is wired differently than her husband and yet God placed them together... work it out! “My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me." (- Jesus) Ephesians 17:20-23. Jesus, The holy Spirit & God are three separate but also one.

don't stir up strife in the body simply because you think your personal conviction is the ultimate say.

...end rant

|| we remember ||

// one of my cousins worked in tower two. on september 11th, 2001 the lights flickered in her building as the first plane crashed into tower one. her boss got a phone call saying everything was fine and that they were to stay in their building as they were securing tower one. my cousin followed her instincts and said "no way". she made it out of tower two and saw broken airplane parts all over the ground. as she looked up at her building, the second plane came crashing in over her head. she turned around, started walking and never looked back. she saw the towers fall from the last ferry out of new york that day.

// this is vinny. he's a retired captain for FDNY & my mothers friend since high school. this is a picture of vinny after the towers fell on 9/11.

|| sarah's concorda cottage ||

// my good friend and fellow blogger, sarah of saraheliiza recently moved in with a friend. i was finally able to make it over to see the house this weekend and let me tell you, i was impressed. between the decor and the scent of the volcano candles she had lit throughout, you would've sworn you were walking into anthropology. these are a few shots from her home and a few fun photos we took.
the last photo of us would be our album cover if sarah and i ever started a band.

happy monday!
