cali birthday

my friend brittany & i decided to take a quick weekend trip to san diego california for our birthday's {we are 10 days apart} we had a blast staying downtown in the gaslamp quarter. the hotel screwed up our reservation and we it ended up being four girls in a room with one queen sized bed. we were troopers though and made it work. we spent the day at mission beach and the evening out on the town. it was an awesome little birthday break... except or the horrible sunburn i got. seriously! traffic cone status!

|| "hey! wanna go to cali this weekend?" "sure!" ||

// a few weeks ago my friend kellie had an audition in California so she asked me to tag along with her for moral support. i said "umm, yes!" here are a few of the photos from our last minute adventure.

// there were over 700 people there for this particular audition and i had to get a picture of the line. this does not do it justice. i asked one of the guys helping with the audition if i could sit in and audit the process for a bit since i am getting into casting and he said "no". well, poo on you, mister! just kidding ...it never hurts to ask.

// after the audition we headed to the grove for lunch and some window shopping.

// wrapping up our trip with a little motion sickness on the car ride home. i hate that since i've gotten older my body says "no way, jose" to any type of motion. car rides? don't even think about it. roller coasters? keep dreaming! overall, it was a very educational and fun last minute trip to cali.

// the last day of our trip was father's day {bad daughters}. we got up early and headed to huntington beach. we hit some of the new shops and then had lunch at ruby's on the pier. after lunch, we set sail for home.

{side note: i always forget that i take photos on my iphone as well as my canon. hence, the random disneyland pictures in this post. i thought i'd throw them in as a recap of our trip - i totally meant to do that!}
